He is Walking!

I've been slacking a little bit here with this blog, but I promise that I have a good excuse. It's called having 3 kids!

Okay, now to the subject at hand. Noah is officially walking! He does take a few tumbles here and there, but he is already doing better over the last few days. I can't wait for him to show off his new skills to Grandma Violet and Grandpa Dan next week! Here is a video of our Mr Noah walking. Enjoy!

We Won!

On Saturday, all of us Walters headed up to the park for a special dinner. It was a memorial dinner in honor of dearest friend Kevin. This dinner was very important to Nick, so therefore it was important to the boys and I. Nick played a key role in making the event happen and let me tell you that it was a HUGE success. Not just a success with the amount of money they raised, but with the amount of love and support from all who were touched by Kevin throughout his short life. I am so proud of Nick's hard work/dedication and I am sure Kevin would just as proud.

During the dinner there was a silent auction with many different items to bid on. Nicholas wanted to play the bidding game, so I let him jump in. He had his eye on a Pampered Chef Kids basket which Tia ended up winning. He also was bidding on a STL Cardinals themed basket (donated by our very own Aunt Jaycie and Uncle Randy) and some sports memorabilia (rams t-shirt, Cardinals hat, and an autographed baseball by Ted Sizemore. Apparently, in 1969 he was named NL Rookie of the Year.) Well, he is quite the bidder because we won the Cardinals basket and sports stuff. He was so excited to hear that he had won it when they announced the winners!

Flash Back Friday

My mother sent me this picture the other day in an email. In her spare time she enjoys scanning and downloading old family photos onto her computer. I am glad that she does because the pictures bring a smile to my face just like this one did! In this picture is my little brother Daniel, my cousin Brandi, and I. We are in our backyard at our house on Anderson A.F.B, Guam. I must have been having a BLAST from the expression on my face! Gotta love slip-n-slides. There is a reason why they still make them and this picture shows it!
Ahh....the joys of childhood!

Got Shade?

We don't. Well, at least not in our front yard. Lucky for me, I have two very clever, creative , and inventive little boys! The other day, while sitting outside, I looked over to see that Nicholas and Joshua made some shade for themselves. Who needs trees in their front yard when you have an umbrella? Silly boys!

14 Months Old

It's that time again. Time for me to give you an update on our little Mr. Noah. In just a few days he will be turning 15 months old, so I thought I better catch you up on what life is like for him at 14 months of age.
Here we go.......
  • Growing like a weed: Like always, Noah has been busy growing! No exact measurements (maybe I will get him on the bathroom scale and get out Daddy's tape measure for next month's update) However, this month he graduated up to a size 4 diaper and size 5 shoe!

  • A Mouthful: of teeth that is! Noah now has his 1 year (top) molars and is currently working on cutting his 2 bottom molars. He has a total of 10 teeth. His smile is so beautiful! As a matter of fact, everyone says "look a those teeth!"when they see him. He definitely has mommy's big grin. Love it!

  • Tell me about it: Noah is talking more and more these days. He is learning how to say so many new words. Here is what is in his vocabulary ........hi, bye-bye, ow and owie (when something hurts), wa-wa (water), juice, num-num (hungry or food), um (when something tastes good), ahh (after drinking), Bella (his tongue goes wild with this one), doggy, get (to make Bella go away), hot dog (a phrase he learned from Mickey Mouse), Joshua (he can't say Nicholas yet, but that is a long and hard name to say if you think about it), Mommy, Da (daddy), done and all done (as he holds his hands out), thank you, down, and baby.

  • Getting around: Noah took his first steps on June 26th. He walked from Tia's arms into mine while at the Children's Museum. Later on that evening we went to Grandma Connie's house and he took even more steps! He even stopped himself from falling down by balancing himself on both feet. He is not fully walking at this point and still prefers to crawl. However, little by little he is taking more and more steps!

  • These are a few of my favorite things: Little Bunny Fu-Fu song (he even does the motions!), playing ball with everyone including Bella, getting pushed in the dump truck or Mickey Mouse airplane by Nicholas and Joshua, climbing up the stairs to see what his big brothers are up to, going down the stairs on his belly to see where Mommy is, laying on Daddy and watching TV, snuggling with a blanket while sucking his baby thumb, "re-organizing" mommy's lower kitchen cabinets (he is so "helpful" let me tell ya!), going outside (for a bike or stroller ride, playing in cozy coupe, swinging in his swing, and going down the slide), playing Where's the baby?, and looking for every one's (and his too) bellybuttons.

A little late

I just now realized that I did not post any pictures from our 4th of July. If you live in our neck of the woods, then you already know that the 4th was a wet one for us! The Mascoutah Fourth of July festivities were postponed for the next day due to all the rain we got in the early/mid morning. We did not let this stop us from having a fun day. We grilled, ate lots of food, and made our own firework display in Grandpa's backyard!

Here are some of the pics that I took. Enjoy!

Tee's from Tia

Our Tia finds some of the cutest stuff and best bargains! For example, look at the t-shirts she got for Joshua and Noah. See what I mean? Cute huh? She found these t-shirts from her "mommy board group". A lady makes these "letter" shirts and made one for Jamison. I though it was the cutest thing! So of course, Tia had her make one for Joshua and Noah! Nicholas did not get one because they don't come in big sizes. Plus, I am sure that he would think it was "baby-ish". Take a look a our new letter t-shirts. Thanks Tia! You're the best!

Mohawks!

I know this post is a little late, but I could NOT forget to post about this. So, after our trip the Science Center, we headed to Grandma Connie's Backyard Barber Shop for some new hairstyles. Well, not all of us. Just Daddy, Uncle Doug, and Joshua were brave enough to sport a new do....the Mohawk....or as Daddy says "fauxhawk". Nicholas was not having any part of being "crazy". He is so conservative and doesn't like to stand out in a crowd (completely opposite of Joshua!) I sat, watched, and shook my head as the clippers went across all 3 of their heads!

Daddy and Uncle Doug no longer have their Mohawks. They had to buzz their heads for military purposes. However, Joshua is still rocking it! We will be getting his shaved off before too long. Until then, he will enjoy spiking it up in the tub with shampoo.

Joshua was excited to look like Daddy and Uncle Doug with his new do.
Here is the "after" shot. What do you think? I think I have one crazy husband!!
Joshua's "after" shot.

I must admit. He does look cute with a Mohawk!

Here the boys are playing afterwards.
Noah loves sitting on his big brothers 4-wheeler.

The St. Louis Science Center

Nick had the day off of work this past Thursday, so I decided to take full advantage of him being home with us. We packed up the boys and headed to the STL Science Center for some family fun. The boys had a great time. Nicholas and Joshua really got a kick out of the life-like dinosaurs! They also loved the miniature tornado on display! After the Science Center, Daddy treated us to an early dinner at Ravenelli's. It was YUMMY!
Here are some pictures from our day. Enjoy!

Look there is Mommy!

How big? SO BIG!

Picnic at the park

The boys and I went on a picnic in the park last week. Everyday, without fail, Nicholas asks "Mom. What are we going to do today?" He is always looking for an adventure. I thought that going to the park for lunch and play time would be FUN! All three boys had a great time. Check out the pics below.

Noah waiting to get out of the bike trailer to eat his lunch.

Yummy! We had turkey sandwiches, goldfish crackers, strawberries, grapes, watermelon, and juice boxes.

Noah trying to reach up and play with the big boys.

Joshua hanging on for dear life. He actually is pretty good at climbing across the bars. I think he will be able to do it all by himself soon.

Uh Oh! Someone doesn't look happy.

Here baby. Let big brother help you.

He looks so big up there by himself. Trust me. I only stepped back to take this picture. I was next to him when he went down!

Where's the baby?

There he is!!!

After the park we packed up our stuff, hopped on our bikes, and headed to the library. As you can see, all that playing tuckered out Noah. He slept in this bean bag while we read a couple of books.

Here is Joshua looking for a book to read.

Nicholas found a book all about tractors!
