Nicholas's Progress Report

Last week, Nicholas brought home his progress report from school. I always new that this little boy was smart, but this report is proof that I am not bias. All A's!!! He has moved from E's (excellent) to A's (we all know what A's represent). Nick and I are so proud of him. I can tell that he too is proud of himself. After all, he did have a big smile on his face when he pulled it out of his backpack and handed it to me. I must admit that I did tear up after reading the note his teacher added. It fills my heart to know that she sees just how smart and special my Nicholas is.

15, 16,and now 17 Months!

Wow! Can you believe that Noah is now, as of today, 17 months old? I have fallen behind on posting his monthly milestones and accomplishments. I am going to try my best to catch all of you up. He has been a busy little fella these past 2 months! Here is what he has been up to.

15 Months

  • Noah is now 34 3/4 inches tall and weighs 21 pounds. He is still wearing 18 month clothing and a size 4 diaper.
  • He now has 12 teeth! His little chompers are the cutest!
  • This month Noah celebrates his 2nd Mascoutah Homecoming. This year he was big enough to enjoy a few rides with his big brothers! I am not sure if he had fun on the rides because he just sat and sucked his thumb as the ride went round and round.
  • Noah made his 2nd trip to Texas to see Grandpa Dan and Grandma Violet. While there, he enjoyed seeing Shamu at Sea World and swimming in the ocean for the 1st time! He was a big fan of playing in the sand and crawling on the shore.

16 months

  • No statistics to report this month. However, this little boy is growing each and every day both physically and intellectually.
  • Noah is now wearing a size 5 shoe ("shoe-shoe" as Noah calls them) with a medium width. Yes, his little feet ("my feet" as Noah calls them) are getting fatter/wider! He covers a lot of ground with those little chubby feet! He is getting faster and faster these days.
  • Noah says lots more these days. He is like a little parrot and tries to repeat what you say. Some of his new words are: ketchup (loves to dip anything and everything in ketchup), more (as he points to the ketchup bottle), welcome (after you say thank you to him), thank you (he is so polite), mote (As in remote control. He loves to get his little hands on it!), Ouch. That hurt. (as he rubs his little head), poop (as he touches his crotch after going pee, poop, and/or farting), down (he uses this word is he wants to get up and down), and blankie (blanket).
  • Noah made is 3rd trip to Texas this month. This time he had Mommy, Grandpa Dan, and Grandma Violet all to himself. Nicholas and Joshua stayed behind with Daddy due to school. We made a special trip because Grandpa Dan had to have a test on his heart. He must have studied hard because he passed the test! Either that or he passed because he had his "good-luck charm", Noah, near him.
  • Noah LOVES Blue! Blue as in Blue's Clues that is. Noah will sit down and watch an entire 30 minute episode without blinking. He now can say "Blue Clue". Very Cute!

Apple Picking

Today was Joshua's apple picking field trip at Eckerts Orchard! He has been looking forward to picking his very own apples. We took a wagon ride deep into the orchards filled with Golden Delicious, Jonathan, and Red Delicious apples. He was able to pick an apple off the branch, rub it on his belly (to clean it), then eat it! His favorite was the Golden Delicious apple. So far he has eaten 4 apples today! I only hope he doesn't get a belly ache later.

Joshua +Tractor Ride = a BIG grin!

Fall is Coming.

Because tomorrow marks the first day of the fall season, I decided to do a little reminiscing of our trip to the ocean. This video was taken this summer while in Corpus Christi, TX. Hope you enjoy!

Joshua's 1st Day!

Preschool here I come!

Hanging up his backpack on his hook.

Joshua and his new teacher, Mrs. Amy.

You have probably been wondering where in the world did we go? I am sorry for the delayed blogging. However, I have been really busy. Last week, Noah and I traveled to San Antonio while Nick stayed home with Nicholas and Joshua (they both had school). For those that have not already heard; my Dad was having to go in for a cardiac catheterization (a procedure where they can see if any of the arteries in his heart have blockages)after failing to pass a Stress Test (a test where they look at the electrical activity of the heart while he walked on a treadmill) Being that I am a "heart" nurse, I had to go. I would not have had it any other way. I am very happy and relieved to say that my Dad's heart is very healthy! No blockages!!! Or as my Dad says, "I am free to eat double cheeseburgers everyday for the next ten years."

So, while I was in Texas, Joshua started his first day of preschool in the 4 year old class. I was so sad/upset that I could not be with him on his first day and take him to school. I guess that is why there is two of us (Nick and I) Nick stepped up to the plate and got Joshua ready for school, took lots of pictures for me, and took our baby to school. This year he is going to Nicholas's old preschool, Zion Lutheran. This is his first year at this school, so this meant there would be lots of new faces. Joshua has no problem making new friends. He just jumps right in! We are now one week into school and he tells me that his favorite thing to do at school is play. I can't wait to see how much he learns throughout the school year.

North Padre Island

This is a giant sandcastle in front of a souvenir shop.
Of course we had to get a picture in front of it. It was really amazing!

Mom and Dad

There is a story behind this picture. Here it goes.....
While browsing through this gift/souvenir shop, Joshua stumbles across the hat section. He picks up this hat, turns to me and says, "Look Mom! It's a "jelly fish"!" It was so funny/cute. After laughing, I asked him if I could take a picture of him with the "jelly fish" on his head.
So there you have it.....Joshua and the "jelly fish" hat!
Here is another souvenir/gift shop. The boys got a kick of the giant shark!

Here we are being shark bait.

Joshua's 4th Birthday Party!

The Birthday Boy!

Everyone had fun swinging on the swing set and bouncing in the bounce house.

Uncle Doug and Uncle Justin.
Giants vs. Cardinals.

The silly string was a HIT!
Note to self: buy more silly string next time.

No silly string for baby. Instead he got a baseball.

Uh oh, where did that silly string come from in his hand?

My Goddaughter, Olivia, the STL Cardinal cheerleader.

Tia and Jamison.

All the guys.

Me and Camryn.

The get along gang!

Joshua and buddy Jack.

Aunt Jaycie showing Noah how to blow the whistle.

Sheryl, Grandma Connie, Great Grandma Ganz, and Great Grandma Walter.

Taking a time out from bouncing for a picture.

There they are....the little monkeys!

It's not a party if there is not a pinata!

Making a wish!
Happy Birthday Joshua Delmar!

Take me out to the ball game..........
On Friday, August 25th, we celebrated Joshua's 4th birthday by throwing a backyard baseball bash! Of course we had our favorite team, the STL Cardinals, as the back drop for our birthday party. Everyone came wearing their favorite teams jerseys/shirts. We had people show up in Cards, Giants, Twins, and Indians wear! We stuffed our faces with ballpark favorites like: loaded nachos, hot dogs, soft pretzels with cheese, and peanuts! We even had a baseball pinata and STL Cardinals cupcakes to top it off, It was a GREAT birthday party. The birthday boy, Joshua, had a BLAST!
