Sweet Dreams

Who knew that my stairs could make for a good napping spot? I guess Noah thought the steps was just as good as any ol' bed. This is what happens when you run out of gas after playing hard all morning. And for the record, I did take him up to his bed after snapping these photos!

My Buzz Socks

I love Target and its $1 bins at the front of the store! A while back I found some Buzz Lightyear socks for Noah in those bins. Noah is very much into Toy Story and all it's characters (especially Buzz), so when I saw these socks I just HAD to buy them! Who knew a $1 pair of socks would bring such a big smile to his face....and mine!

Pumpkin Picking Field Trip

Back in October, Joshua and I went on a pumpkin picking field trip with his Kindergarten class. This field trip was complete with wagon ride, pumpkin picking, apple cider, and feeding farm animals. Joshua had fun with all his classmates. I had a great time watching him in his element. After searching throughout the pumpkin patch, Joshua found the perfect pumpkin! Can't wait for the next trip!

Grants Farm

This fall we made a trip out to Grants Farm in St. Louis. I have been wanting to take the boys out there for a while now, but it was tough to find a good day to go with me working every weekend and Nick working during the week. It just happened to be that we all had a day home/off together one day, so we decided to pack up and go. To add to this family fun day, my Aunt Sonia and Uncle Ron were in town visiting us and came along for the FUN! The boys had a blast exploring the farm with them. The trip was definitely worth the wait!

The best part (according to the boys) was feeding the goats.
Here is Nicholas feeding the goats.

Joshua enjoyed teasing the goats by giving them a drink
then quickly pulling the bottle from their mouths.

Noah liked feeding the little baby goats.
 The big ones were intimidating.

Here he is scared because the goats were starting to surround him!
Poor Baby!

Joshua wanted to feed the chickens too.
Good thing Uncle Ron was there because
I thought feeding the goats was good enough!

The best part (according to the adults) was the FREE Budweiser beer!

By the way, he now LOVES Grants Farm.
I don't think he will have any problem taking the boys there again!

We ended the trip taking a ride on the carousel.

Yummy!

We LOVE Parades

Nobody loves parades more than us Walters! I guess we are lucky that we have so many here in Mascoutah. We never miss one if we can help it. This year Noah, Katy, Jamison, Gideon and I headed up to watch the High School's Homecoming parade. Nicholas and Joshua were in school during the parade, so they watched it with their classmates and teachers. It's always such a treat to get to hear the band playing the school's fight song, see all the class floats and everyone decked out in purple, and get that old school spirit back into our hearts. Go Indians!

Here is Joshua sitting with his class.
We brought the clowns with us to the parade!
Our favorite cheerleader, cousin Abby, getting ready to do a back handspring.
And here is our favorite babysitter Abbey
(sitting on the left of the truck turned towards the camera)
Of course this was our favorite float.
Even Grandma Connie gets to take a break from her desk to watch the parade with her grand babies!
Oh, to be young again!

Apple Picking

Back at the beginning of the school year, Joshua had his first Kindergarten field trip to Eckerts for apple picking! My boys are pros at picking apples. We have visited Eckerts every apple season for the last 5 years now. Joshua was thrilled to hear that is where he'd be going with all his classmates and teacher. I was able to go along with Joshua and his class. I wouldn't have missed it for the world. I love that I am a "kinda stay at home Mom" and that I have such great in-laws that will watch Noah for these kind of special occasions. Joshua and I had a great time picking and eating apples, drinking fresh apple cider, and playing in the Kiddie Corral. I hope that I get to enjoy many more field trips with him!

This one looks good right here!

A Day With Grandma

Noah is used to being left behind on school days when Grandma Connie picks up and takes Nicholas and Joshua to school. At first, he was a little confused about the whole idea of his brothers leaving with grandma and he having to stay at home with me. He doesn't like to miss out on anything that his big brothers are doing. Well, that all changed on the day Grandma picked up Noah for a little "Noah and Grandma Connie 1:1 time". Being that there are 6 other grandchildren besides himself, this doesn't happen very often. As you can imagine, he was elated when I told him Grandma was going to come to our house and take him bye bye! I guess he thought he was going to school because he insisted on wearing his backpack. In his own words, "Like brothers Mom!"

I am ready. Let's GO!

He looks so big with a backpack on.
(Sniffle. Sniffle)

Is she here yet?
Grandma where are you?

I don't think Noah could have got in the car any faster!

Tiffany's Wedding

On September 4th, Tiffany became Mrs. Press when she said "I do" to the love of her life, Brad. For those that don't know who Tiffany is...well let me just give you a little background info. I met Tiffany when my little sister, Hilaria, and her became best friends in elementary school. So I have known and watched her grow up every since she was about the age my Nicholas is now. I know. Long time huh? After I had children of my own, Tiffany began babysitting for me. She and the boys got to know each other very well through the times she'd watch them and when she would come over when Hilaria was in town.

So, back to the wedding. I usually don't get to go to many weddings because of my work schedule, but somehow I was able to get the day off. I was so thankful to be called off of work because I was able to see my sister walk down the aisle as Maid of Honor and Tiffany as a Bride. After the ceremony, we (Dad, Mom, Nicholas, Joshua, and I) headed to the reception were we ate, drank, danced, and were married! We had a great time! Congratulations to Tiffany and Brad!
