1 more week to go

Nicholas and Joshua playing so well together!

I don't think he likes the swimming pool as much as his big brothers.

My 3 sons!

Nicholas was pretending to be a lifeguard. He even made his very own chair. He has quite an imagination. Here he is telling Joshua to get out of the pool because it's "adult swim"!

Joshua throwing a fit because Nicholas will not blow the whistle for "kids swim"!

Today was the last day of swimming lessons for this week. I must admit that my boys are fast learners! They are enjoying getting to swim 1st thing in the morning. I almost think that they will be bummed out when the class ends. I have been very busy today trying to clean up my house because I am expecting an out of town guest tomorrow. My high school friend, Samara, will be staying at our house during our 10 year high school class reunion. I am so EXCITED to see her. I will be sure to take lots of pictures. However, I will not make any guarantees to have new posts because I am sure the beer will not be kind to me this weekend!

Long over due

Tonight I met up with some old college friends for a little GNO (Girls Night Out) Nick was generous and decided to skip his softball game so I could go to dinner with the girls. I am so glad he did because I had a good time catching up with everyone! We had dinner and drinks at J.Bucks. The food and martinis tasted oh so good and the gossip.....I mean conversation was even better! I can't wait for next months dinner!

I found my thumb!

We better start saving our money for braces because Noah has started sucking on his thumb! At first, he would try to stick his entire fist in his mouth. After discovering that his fist was too big, he decided to try his thumb. I know that thumb sucking is a nasty habit. However, I must admit that it is so darn stinkin' cute when he does it! Nick sucked his thumb for quite a long time when he was little. Like father like son!

Swimmg Lessons

Today was the first day of swimming lessons for Nicholas and Joshua. Nicholas was not having a good time at first because the water was so cold! It was only 81 degrees this morning. I had to keep encouraging him to stay in the pool with all the other swimmers. For those of you that know my Nicholas, you know it's hard to get him out of his moods when he is in one! His instructor got the vibe that he was not having fun being in the water so he made Nicholas be the demonstrator. After that, he started having fun (mind you he was still ticked off about the water being so cold) Joshua had a different experience with his swimming lesson. He is still too young to do lessons on his own so guess who had to get in the pool with him. Yep, that would be me. Nicholas sat poolside and watched Noah while Joshua and I blew bubbles in the water, made splashes with our legs and arms, and sang songs. Joshua loved every minute of it. I think the reason why he enjoyed it so much was because he had mommy all to himself! I was not able to get a picture of Joshua because I was in the pool with him. I was able to get a picture of Nicholas and his swimming teacher (that's what the boys called the instructors) I will try to capture more photos of the boys learning to swim for all of you!

3 Months Old

Noah turned 3 months old today. He is definitely growing fast! The other day, I lifted Noah in his car seat/carrier and thought, "man this boy is getting heavy!" I am not sure what his accurate weight is because he does not have a Well-Baby visit this month. Trust me, my arms know that he has gained at least a few pounds. Noah has been very busy this past month with airplane rides, going for walks in the stroller, playing on his activity mat, and swinging in his swing. He is a happy boy and loves being entertained by his big brothers!

Here is what we know about Noah at 3 months:

  • Weight: 15lbs (This weight was calculated using my bathroom standing scale. I am sure it's not completely accurate, but close enough)

  • Still eating at Moms. On the weekends, he eats "Moms-To -Go" anywhere from 4-5 1/2 ounces every 3-4hours

  • Still has dark hair, but is starting to lose it in the back. He is sporting the bald look in the back!

  • It's official, MY BABY HAS BROWN EYES LIKE ME!!!!!!!!!!

  • Loves to smile, coo, and laugh

  • We discovered that he is ticklish on his neck and belly

  • Is a pro at rolling over from tummy to back

  • Wears 3-6months clothing, but more 6months than 3 months

  • Follows objects (For example: the other day, his eyes followed me as I walked from one side of the bed to the other)
  • He is our sunshine and continues to fill our hearts with lots of love each day!

Grandma Violet's Pool

This year Grandma Violet decided to buy a pool pass to the pool in her subdivision. We are glad she did because we had so much fun swimming while visiting her. Next year, Grandpa Dan and Grandma Violet will be getting their very own in-ground pool in their backyard!!! (well, that is the plan so far) The boys had fun playing in the pool with all their cousins. Grandpa Dan and Grandma Violet joined us in the pool too! Here are the last of the pictures of our trip to Texas!

Our little Noah was baptized on July 5th 2008. Nick and I chose my sister, Hilaria, and his brother, Doug, to be Noah's Godparents. We were so happy to have Noah baptized by my cousin, Father Carlos Velazquez, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in San Antonio. Noah did so well at the baptism! He slept through the majority of it. Many of my relatives were there to witness the joyous occasion. Unfortunately, Nick's family was not able to come. We sure did miss them! Noah was baptized on the same day as my cousin Antonio's 74th birthday fiesta. We had a wonderful time visiting with him and many of the other family members that made the trip for the celebration. On Friday, July 18th 2008, Antonio passed away after battling pancreatic cancer. We are so lucky to have had him in our lives. We will miss him dearly.

The fireworks at night, shine big and bright (clap, clap, clap, clap) Deep in the heart of Texas!

This year we celebrated the 4th of July in Texas! Nick, Doug (Nick's brother), and I kicked off the day by traveling to the outlet mall for some shopping. Can you believe it....NICK WENT SHOPPING WITH ME AT A MALL!! Trust me, I think that he would not have been up to going there if it weren't for Doug. After a day of shopping, we headed to my cousin Sarah's house to eat grilled fajitas and all the fixings. The food was delicious! (By the way, when you see Doug, ask him if he ate enough beans in Texas!) The day ended with us watching the firework display on Randolph A.F.B. The fireworks were beautiful! (I think it was because they played TAPS at the end of the display. It really made it more special.) Noah celebrated his first 4th of July by sleeping through the fireworks! This year Joshua was a little afraid of all the loud "booms". Nicholas loved all the different shapes and colors! Here are some pics from our 4th of July. Enjoy!
