No more sick baby! Noah is back to his good ol' happy baby self. He actually has been feeling better for a while now, but I did not get a chance (until now) to post a follow up. The antibiotic worked like magic on his ear. He was better in no time. Daddy got to experience the "not-so-magic" side of the antibiotic this past weekend. Yes, Noah experienced diarrhea. It is a very common side effect. Noah kept his Daddy busy changing poopy diapers and washing clothes and bedding!
Here is a picture of Noah sporting a shampoo mohawk. He is so CUTE! You can tell his hair is getting long by how high it is sticking up.

Poor baby!
We have a sick baby on our hands. It all started this past weekend. Noah's little nose started running and he had a case of diarrhea. Yesterday, his nose was running even more and the color had turned from clear to green. Then, Noah woke up at today at 4a.m. with a temperature and was not feeling good at all. Nothing seemed to soothe my baby. Snuggling with Mommy and Daddy just was not cutting it! After visiting Dr. Raben earlier this afternoon, Noah was diagnosed with a right ear infection and prescribed Amoxicillin. This is the first time he has ever had an ear infection. I hope that his antibiotic will kick in very soon! He has already taken 1 dose so say a little prayer for him (and us). I can't wait till my baby feels better. Nothing is worse than knowing your baby is miserable and there is nothing you can do but wait for the medication to start working.
P.S. Happy 11 month Birthday Baby Noah!!!

10 Months Old
Wow, here we go again! Another month has passed and Noah is another month closer to turning 1 year old. Actually, he is only 4 days away from turning 11 months old. Noah has accomplished quite a bit at 10 months of age. Here is what our baby boy has been up to lately:
Noah can wave "bye-bye". When he hears the word/words bye or bye-bye he starts waving. His chubby little hands are so cute!
Speaking of hands, I believe Noah is a "righty". He predominately uses his right hand to pick up objects and even waves bye-bye with it. He even throws things using his right hand. Sorry Daddy. No switch pitcher/hitter here.
- Noah has been busy growing! I do not have an accurate weight or height, but I am thinking he is close to 19lbs and 28inches (measurements compliments of bathroom scale and Daddy's tape measure)
- Noah is beginning to wear 18 month clothing, but the majority of his clothes are still size 12 months. His little tush remains to wear a size 3 diaper.
- Noah's hair is getting longer. Daddy is just itching to take Noah to get his 1st haircut. I think we need to wait a little longer. Maybe next month we will take a trip to see Ron the barber.
- Noah has decided to stop eating at Moms and take his milk "to go" (breast milk in a bottle). That's right. My baby (sniffle....sniffle....) has stopped breastfeeding as of March 14th. He only takes a 8-9 oz. bottle 2 times a day. He enjoys eating baby food and can eat around 4-5 jars a day. He loves drinking juice from his big boy sippy cup. He drinks about 4-6 oz. a day. Noah especially loves it when we give him table food! I think his favorite so far are McDonalds french fries! He chews away at them using all 7 of his little baby teeth!
- Noah's vocabulary has grown this month. He can say: dada, ma, baba (bottle), ju (juice), and uh (uh -oh, but he hasn't added the oh)
- Noah can pull himself up to standing position as of March 9th. (see video below) We have to be careful where we place things because everything is in his reach now. For example: he loves to grab and play with the laptop, mouse for the laptop, the remote controls, or anything else we place on the coffee table. As you can imagine Noah hears a lot of "no Noah no."
The count down is on. 35 more days till Noah turns 1 year old!!! Make sure you leave April 24th open on your calendars because we will be having a Fiesta you will not want to miss!

Special Visitors
We had 3 special visitors from my side of the family this past week. On Thursday, my cousin Julio came over for dinner. He was in St. Louis for the week on business. He had a little free time to spend with us and we are so glad he did. We don't get to see him that often, so we had lots of catching up to do! I hope that he can bring his family down this summer and visit with us again.
On Sunday, my Aunt Sonia and Uncle Ron, stopped by on their way back up to the Chicago area after spending the weekend in St. Louis. They made a special trip down for Ron's birthday. Unfortunately, I did not get to see them because I worked all weekend. However, they were able to see Nick and the boys!

Dribble, Shoot, and Score!
Daddy, along with Grandpa Bob's help, lowered our basketball hoop for the boys. They were both excited to get to play on the "just their size" court. Nicholas has especially taken an interest in playing basketball. He plays it at recess with his friends. At first, he wasn't too sure about playing because he didn't know how. After some instructions from Daddy and Uncle Doug, he enjoys playing the sport! Joshua still needs a little help with tossing the ball. Grandpa Bob has been working on teaching him to throw from in between his legs. A little more practice and who knows.......maybe they will be as good as their Uncle Justin!?!

Yummy!
On Tuesday night, I had dinner with the girls in celebration of Tammy's birthday. We ate at the birthday girl's choice, Sho Gun. As you can see from the pictures below, this was a very entertaining dinner. The food was DELICIOUS! Like always, I had so much fun! I know that we girls don't like getting older. However, I think we all agree that getting older has its "perks" like getting a night out with the girls!
Top: Lil' Lindz and Jaycie Bottom: Roma, Lacey, Tammy, and meTammy getting wild on her birthday! Here she is doing squirts of Sake!
She really wasn't getting wild. He just wouldn't leave her alone.

Field Trip
Mommy and Nicholas on the bus
Practicing flossing
Practicing brushing
Nicholas and I went on his class field trip to the Delta Dental Theater. We had to take a bus ride all the way across the river to St. Louis to get there. Nicholas doesn't get to ride a school bus that often so that in itself was a treat. This field trip was about learning the importance of how and why we need to keep our teeth healthy! What a coincidence because Nicholas had a dentist appointment after school. And guess what.......Nicholas has no cavities!!! He has many more loose teeth and is getting his 6 year molars in. Way to go Nicholas for keeping your teeth strong and healthy!

Special Delivery
Nicholas received a special delivery yesterday! The mailman left a package in our mailbox from two special people that live in Texas. Yep, you guessed it! Grandma Violet and Grandpa Dan sent Nicholas some books that are at his reading level. He was so excited to open the package and was even more excited to see/read the books! He couldn't wait to read them. As a matter of fact, he read all of them yesterday. One right after the other without a break! He was so proud of himself because most of the books had 32 pages! He couldn't believe that he could read so many pages.
Thank you so much Mom and Dad for sending Nicholas a special surprise! We only wish that you were here so that he could read them to you both. We love and miss you!

Minature Picasso
Tonight, after dinner, Nicholas and Joshua unleashed their creativity through paint and paper. All I have to say is "thank goodness for washable squeezable paint!!" It is the best invention EVER! Nicholas painted a portrait of a rainbow. Joshua, on the other hand, painted an abstract portrait of.......well, I am not sure......but he sure had fun doing it! Noah did not get to paint, but don't think for one minute that he didn't have any fun. He enjoyed playing with Nicholas and Joshua's shirts.

The "truck" game
My boys are very good at inventing new games. Today, they pushed each other around the house in a toy truck for at least 45 minutes or so. They even got little Noah to join in on the fun! I will admit the sound of them driving that truck on my floors was annoying. However, their giggles and laughter was music to my ears. I know one day I will want nothing more than to hear the sound of trucks rolling on my floor and the laughter that comes from their little mouths.
